Raising Money for Safe Passage

Insa is proud to announce that it was one of the top ten fundraising teams at this year’s Hot Chocolate Run for Safe Passage! Insa raised $4,020 for Safe Passage’s 16th annual Hot Chocolate Run. Safe Passage helps to provide support for survivors of domestic violence in Hampshire and Hampden counties.

Each year, Safe Passage hosts their Hot Chocolate Run to help the organization grow and support the needs of survivors in the community. Insa’s donation will help Safe Passage to provide critical resources such as shelter, counseling, legal help, and more to those in need in our community. According to Safe Passage, donations help to “…ensure that our counselors and advocates can respond – quickly, effectively, and flexibly – to give every survivor the help they need. Instead of telling someone, ‘here’s what we can offer you,’ we’re able to ask, ‘how can we help?’ This approach – keeping survivors’ experiences at the forefront of our work.”

Consisting of a 5K run/walk (with hot chocolate at the finish line) the 2019 Hot Chocolate Run took place on December 8th in downtown Northampton, MA. Over $600,000 was raised through the event. It was budtender Sophia’s idea for Insa to get involved.  “It was a lot of fun to participate in the run and to raise money for Safe Passage,” she said. “We owe our patients and customers a huge thanks for being so generous!” In addition to helping to organize the fundraiser, Sophia attended the run as a part of Team Insa.

In addition to providing premium products to help our patients and patrons feel and live better, we believe in strengthening our local community as well by giving back. It was Insa’s first year donating to Safe Passage’s Hot Chocolate Run, but we hope to make it an annual tradition. While the holiday season is a great time to be there for our loved ones and friends, it is important to remember those who are not as fortunate.
